  Нейният спектакъл Bal Du Paradis, е заплашен със затваряне от парижкия съдия, Аристид Форестие. Той е обиден от скандалния, но популярен танц, който атрактивните танцьори изпълняват на танц-залата, наречен "Can-Can". Съдията изпраща  полицията да тормозят собственичката и нейните танцьорки.
